I am Jacob.Pieter Smits. You can click on my name to view my LinkedIn profile.
As a doctor in Economics I worked for publisher Reed Elsevier and newspaper organization Cebuco in Amsterdam. I then started my own software company DiskAd Publish One that focuses on publishing tools and solutions.
In 2003 I moved to France.
JoliSoleil is the name I gave the old farm (+/- 1750) in France that I bought in 1999.
After emigrating from Holland to France in 2003, I also named my gite vacation rental company "JoliSoleil" or "JS".
High & Rooms
Another hobby is music. As a young man I built loudspeakers and amplifiers myself. In later years I invested in some nice highend equipment.
A couple of years I worked for Final Electrostatic Loudspeakers.
Under the name High & Rooms I help people in selecting equipment that sonically but also visually fits in their (living) room. Checkout the H&R Facebook group.

About wine
I have been interested in wine practically all my life. Living in Amsterdam I did the "SVH- Slijters Vakopleiding". (WSET 2)
It is not a coincidence that I came to live in France right between the wine regions of Alsace and Burgundy.
The wine tastings and tours started as a hobby. Over the years they became more and more important. It grew to be part of my business in 2012. Since then I organize private (more) day tours and wine tastings in the French Alsace and Burgundy region and Tuscany Italy all year round.

I am available for presentations and lectures.
Over the years I have been a speaker for business clubs and on congresses on topics like "Alsace" or "wine & food", but also "digital marketing" and "the development of electronic banking".
I combine my theoretical knowledge with a lot of practical experience I have gained over the years.
