About Burgundy
The Route des Grands Crus (Wine Route) passes through the most prestigious part of Burgundy's vineyards, between Dijon and Beaune and then on to Santenay. Of course we will follow parts of this road.
We will show you where the greatest red wines in the world, including 24 of Burgundy’s 33 grands crus (Romanée-Conti, Clos de Vougeot, Chambertin...) are produced. And ... you will taste some of those gems!
Let us not forget the white wines mostly made from Chardonnay grapes producing the greatest dry white wines in the world, with Corton Charlemagne, the wines of Meursault and Montrachet.
I am Pieter Smits from JoliSoleil. I live in France and visit Burgundy for over 16 years now. I know my way in the area and am looking forward to show you around. Apart from loving the glowing hills and the beautiful villages, I am passionate about wine & food. I love to teach my guests all that I have learned about "Bourgogne" wine and food pairings.
Depending on where we pick you up we will either in the morning or afternoon also go to the Cote Challonnaise (Mercurey).
You will learn how the difference in hills, soil, etc. have an influence on the wines.
A full JoliSoleil tour day takes at least 8 hours. You will enjoy a great lunch. We always select a nice restaurant but as they are private tours we can select a pizza place for you or a Michelin * restaurant..
You can also book a more day tour including hotels and dinners. Please checkout my Burgundu Cru tour!.
Transport is by car or minibus.
